(Caroline Springs on Basalt Plains Grasslands)

CS on Grass is a local community group formed to assist Delfin and the Melton Shire Council in the management of the critically endangered plain grassland reserves located in Caroline Springs under the auspice of the CSCDA. The reserves consists primarily of three large patches and many smaller patches covering 14 hectares with the construction of an elevated walkway and viewing tower in Cypress Views West (Patch 1). 2.5m wide paths to be constructed throughout the estate join the reserves together forming part of the walk/bike network to be built throughout Caroline Springs. Navigate this site to see what we plan to do and for some thought provoking content on grassland conservation. Feel free to contact us for information regarding what we do and whether you are interested or would like to become involved.

There is often an outpouring of emotion when a tree is lopped but who notices when grasslands are bulldozed? Instead of laying down in the traditional sense and giving up on our grasslands we should lay down to stop the bulldozers and improper development of the last remaining sites so that we can lay down again and appreciate the beauty you can find lurking between the tussocks.
